On the First Inaugural Governing Body Meeting

The People’s Development Foundation – Sierra Leone is pleased to announce the successful convening of its First Inaugural Governing Body Meeting, marking a significant milestone in the formal establishment and strategic direction of the Foundation.

The meeting brought together a distinguished group of professionals drawn from key national institutions, including the Sierra Leone Labour Congress, the Sierra Leone Teachers’ Union, and senior members of the Civil Service. This diverse and experienced composition reflects the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity, professionalism, and broad-based national engagement.

Deliberations during the meeting set a clear and purposeful tone for the Foundation’s work, culminating in the outline of its 2026–2027 strategic deliverables. Central to these discussions was a shared vision of fostering sustainable development through collective responsibility and active civic participation.

The Governing Body reaffirmed the Foundation’s core mission: to promote a strong culture of giving back to communities across Sierra Leone. This guiding principle will underpin all programs and interventions, with a focus on social impact, capacity building, and community-driven development initiatives.

In line with its forward-looking agenda, the Foundation also announced plans for its First Annual Conference, at which a comprehensive State of the Nation Report will be presented. This report is expected to provide critical insights into key developmental challenges and opportunities, while also serving as a platform for dialogue, policy engagement, and collaborative solutions.

The People’s Development Foundation is an initiative of Alpha Osman Timbo, Esq., whose vision continues to inspire a new model of citizen-led development anchored in accountability, service, and national progress.

As the Foundation moves from formation to action, it remains committed to building partnerships, mobilizing expertise, and delivering meaningful impact for the people of Sierra Leone.
